The course is an intensive one week workshop focusing on advancing the previous investigations of Dissipative Diagrams by professor Sprecher. The goal is to translate the previous research on ornamental systems into a façade system. The translation will apply the logic of the ornamental system to additional criteria as a mediator between exterior and interior environments. A façade system does not merely create a boundary between two distinct environments, but rather it is a negotiation between competing desires. The façade can become more like a dramatized backdrop for the people occupying a building where the designed condition is elaborately artificial. It is in this role that the façade initiates the mood of a space through amplification, reduction, or modification of the environmental conditions.
